Business Psychologist & Leadership Advisor

Ira helps leaders and their teams navigate complexity and transformation by addressing the human dynamics that most often determine success or failure. Drawing on senior leadership experience at Genzyme, a pioneering biotechnology company, alongside deep psychological expertise, he works with founders, executives and leadership teams facing the challenges of growth, change and scale.

As a psychologist and advisor, Ira supports leaders to lead transitions more effectively, work across boundaries, and make better decisions in complex environments.

Formerly European and Asia-Pacific Head of Leader and Organisation Development at Genzyme, Ira has extensive experience across life sciences organisations, from start-ups to global pharma, as well as in technology, FMCG and consulting. Earlier in his career, he worked as a business psychologist at Pearn Kandola.

He coaches Executive MBA participants and is known for his thoughtful, practical and relational approach. Based in The Hague, Ira has lived and worked across North America, the UK and Europe, and brings a strong cross-cultural perspective to his work.

Leadership Advisor: Partners with senior leaders to address complex organisational challenges in growing businesses. At Genzyme, supported the European leadership team through the Sanofi merger, delivering the highest retention of key talent across the organisation.

Chartered Psychologist: Applies evidence-based approaches to leadership and organisational development. At Genzyme, contributed to a 5% increase in multiple sclerosis treatment sales by analysing physician decision-making patterns.

​

Facilitator: Enables leadership teams to align, resolve tensions and accelerate change. As an independent facilitator, supported a European life sciences consultancy to clarify strategy and strengthen collaboration.

Executive and Team Coach: Works with leaders and teams to expand their effectiveness through insight and application. Coached the founder and executive team of a Boston-based biotech company to evolve culture during a period of growth.
